Could your idea change the world?

The 2013 Google Science Fair has been launched to search for the next generation of scientists and engineers. Google is inviting students between the ages of 13 – 18 to enter the competition and submit their ideas to change the world.

You will need to pose a question, develop your hypothesis, conduct scientific research, and write-up your conclusions. Entrants can submit projects in categories such as Biology, Inventions & Innovation, Flora & Fauna and Food Science. Questions asked by students in previous years include ‘Can I help the hearing impaired experience music?’, ‘How can I cure cancer?’ and ‘Can I teach a robot to learn English?’.

Prizes include a $50,000 scholarship from Google, a trip to the Galapagos with National Geographic Expeditions, experiences at CERN, Google or the LEGO Group and digital access to the Scientific American archives for the winner’s school for a year.

Take a look at the past finalists for inspiration and if you have an idea why not try entering?
